Nations FC has announced the signing of Kofi Amankwah on a permanent basis from Hohoe United
Amankwah’s arrival at the club is expected to boost the team’s defense and provide much-needed stability at the back.
Kofi Amankwah, who has already established himself as one of the most reliable and consistent defenders during his days at Hohoe United, is expected to compliment the efforts of his new teammates, Isaac Asare, Asante Boahen, William Apenteng, Emmanuel Boahene and Razak Simpson at the defensive department of Nations FC.
Management of Nations FC believes the inclusion of Kofi Amankwah to their defensive setup will undoubtedly help to solidify the team’s backline and provide a platform for the attack to thrive.
Nations FC will start their Premier League campaign on 6th September, 2024 at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Kumasi against Bechem United.
The team finished 7th in last season’s campaign and hope that with the inclusion of defender Kofi Amankwa, they can finish the upcoming season better than they did the previous season.
After the team’s promotion to the Division Two League, the club set a target of qualifying to the National Division One League, which was eventually achieved in 2016.
During the club’s journey from colts to the Division Two league, many players came along who ended up playing for top tier clubs in Ghana.
With a passion for football, two brothers Divine Kyei Boadu and Paul Kyei Baffour decided to acquire Bekwai Youth Academy and subsequently rebranded the team to Nations Football Club. Henceforth, in the next football season (2022/2023), the team will be playing their home matches at the refurbished Kwame Kyei Sports Complex at Abrankese.
