Ghanaian highlife and afrobeats singer-songwriter, Gregory Bortey Newman widely known as King Promise has disclosed that in less than two weeks, he will drop his new album.
The musician said he is very happy about the love his fans and supporters have for him and he can’t wait till 14th June, 2024 to drop his album.
King Promise made this disclosure when commenting on his 3 awards received at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, June 1.
King Promise, despite losing the Artiste of the Year award to Ghanaian Afropop, Afro-dancehall and reggae musician, Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy won three awards which are Afropop Song of the Year, Afrobeat/Afropop Artiste of the Year, and Most Popular Song of the Year.
He expressed his appreciation to his fans and supporters for the overwhelming support and love.
“3 awards on the night wow guys Thank you guys for allowing me to be true to myself and make music that i love & you still love & support me. THANK YOU. My new album drops in less than two weeks (14th) & I can’t wait to share my truest self with you. stay True To Self… Lastly, Last night was for my boy @KapturedPixels” He wrote on his social media haddle X.
“He gave his all to this project & i know he’s watching us from heaven proud. We miss you & will forever go harder for you Pepsin” He added.
Meanwhile, Ghanaian Media Personality, Bridget Otoo describes as unfair for denying King Promise the Artist of the year.
She indicated that King Promise’s song went beyond the continents and he should have been given “The Artist of the Year”.
Bridget Otoo said “Guys be fair, are you people saying Stonebwoy has had a better year than King Promise? Or the artist of the year is given to the one who doesn’t have mic problems on the night of the music award?” She wrote on her X.
“Thank God I don’t have fave but sitting on the outside and looking at the year King Promise has had it would be unfair to deny him that!” She added.
