The proprietor of Kalakuta Foundation School Complex, Dr. Douglas Marfo, has celebrated the achievements of one of their own, Vanessa Lamisi Winpini.
Vanessa, a student at the Kalakuta Foundation School Complex, has made the institution proud by being selected as one of the final thirty (30) contestants in the prestigious Daakye Hemaa Kids Beauty Pageant being organized by Promise Broadcasting Ltd., owners of Oyerepa TV, Oyerepa FM, Promise TV, and Promise FM.
Dr. Douglas Marfo, in his eulogy, praised Vanessa’s dedication, hard work, and determination. “Vanessa is a shining example of what it means to be a student at Kalakuta Foundation School Complex, her unwavering commitment to excellence and her passion for learning have not gone unnoticed. We are incredibly proud of her for making it to the main competition of the Daakye Hemaa Kids Beauty Pageant, and we have no doubt that she will continue to achieve great things.” He said
He also expressed confidence in the learners at Kalakuta Foundation School Complex as he believes that with the kind of training being given to them by facilitators of the schools, all learners of his school can achieve greater heights in life should they take their education and training seriously.
According to him, the school takes keen interest in unearthing the talents of all learners by ensuring that much importance is given to all extracurricular activities in the school.
“I have the confidence that if they don’t relax and keep on doing what we have invested in them, their parents will never regret bringing their wards to the school. Normally I tell my learners never to be satisfied with their current achievement, they should not think that they are first in their class but they should try to score 100% in every subject as well as other activities they find themselves in.
“So as we are preparing the learners academically, we also take keen interest in preparing them for other things that will help them in their future, so we try to give them essential skills that they will use to maneuver their way in life because when it is very easier to learn at the infancy stage, so every activity that we know it will help our learners to be successful in life, we try to inculcate in them while they are in the school.” He told reporters.
Dr. Douglas Marfo, further revealed that, the school’s top priority is to prepare and promote their learners to become successful and responsible individuals in the society and therefore does not delay the progress of their learners especially those who are academically gifted such as the case of talented Vanessa Lamisi Winpini.
“When we are preparing the children and realize that they excel so much, we invite their parents and discuss with them that we want to skip the child, Vanessa for instance, from BS2 to BS3 we skipped to BS4, and from BS5 to BS6 we also skipped her to JHS1, so when whenever we see exceptional children, we just promote them.
“So that is why from 2016 to 2023, we were able to write for the first batch of BECE because we don’t really stress nor delay our students, once we realize they are exceptional, we start preparing them for the next class and the BECE when needed.
“At the moment, we have started vacation and remedial classes for SHS and based on that, we have been able to get WASSCE code to register students especially those who couldn’t passed their first sitting, so as we are speaking we have 366 candidates that we are preparing for the WASSCE and we have also been given a code to register candidates for NOVDEC.
Mr. Marfo, ceased the occasion to spell out some challenges facing the school.
“Initially, I didn’t know there will be a lot of challenges in starting up a private school, among other competitions, some people will tag you with so many things just to destroy the image of the school.
“Aside from that, trying to put in infrastructures is very challenging because irrespective of how efficient your teachers are, most parents may not enroll their wards in the school when the infrastructures are not up to their expectations.
“Another challenge is the perception some people have about our school, most people have the perception that our tuition fee is very expensive because of our facilities but that is not true. We offer the best of education with the most affordable tuition fees in the Techiman South Municipality.
The Kalakuta Foundation School Complex, continues to celebrate Vanessa’s success and looks forward to seeing what the future holds for this talented young learner.
