Julián Álvarez has agreed to sign a 5-year deal with Atletico Madrid after accepting a proposal of a five year deal from the Spanish side.
Negotiations between Álvarez agent, Fernando Hidalgo and Atletico Madrid were fruitful yesterday after Los Colchoneros agreed to increase their proposal for the 24-year old Argentine .

“Atlético Madrid agree deal to sign Julián Álvarez on €𝟗𝟓𝐦 package Agreement just reached with agent Fernando Hidalgo on long term contract after intense negotiations today.
“Man City completed their record sale… as signed Julián for €17m and sold him for €75m plus €20m add-ons!
“Álvarez wanted Atlético Madrid strongly, Simeone was pushing and he will sign a five year contract at the club.” He said on his page.
Julian Álvarez joined Manchester City on his 22nd birthday, from River Plate, he played 67 games netting 20 goals. The young Argentine was very impressive for the Premier League Champions last season, scoring 11 goals and providing 9 assists in 36 league games.
The signing of Álvarez is a major coup for Atletico Madrid, who have been looking to bolster their attacking options in recent months.
Álvarez began his football career in his native Argentina, where he is an academy graduate of River Plate, making his first-team debut for the club in 2018. There he spent four seasons and won the Copa Argentina, 2018 Copa Libertadores and the Argentine Primera División in 2021, finishing as the competition’s top scorer.
He was named the South American Footballer of the Year in 2021. He was signed by Manchester City in 2022, winning a treble of the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League in his debut campaign.
