The Paramount Chief of Jama Traditional area ( north MO) in the Bole district of Savanna Region, Nana Lanjagor Carley, known in private life as Professor Noa Karley, has cautioned the public against the use of insults, and other obscene language in their campaign
The law professor who is based in the United Kingdom in a phone interview warned Ghanaians especially the youth against disrespect towards leaders with emphasis on Chiefs and Queen mothers
According to him, the country’s woes is a results of disrespect on the part of the youth towards the elderly who don’t share the same political vision with them, he behavior he said ” taboo in our society”
“We are sowing a wrong seed for the future generations which doesn’t speak well of us, I urge all and sundry to desist from such behavior.” He said.
The professor noted with concern about what the future holds for Ghanaians if “we continue to showcase such poor behavior”
According to him, “politics is about ideas and policies, it is about what you can do. we are all one people and I appealed to political party leaders to train their followers on how to campaign without insults because Ghana is one and we must be mindful of our utterances as we approach the polls.
The Law Professor, said he is optimistic that electoral commission will exhibit professionalism and conduct the upcoming general elections in a credible manner.
Addressing the security agencies, he said “to the Inspector General’s Of Police, Mr. Akufo Danpare, l am optimistic that he and his officers will discharge their duties with the outmost professionalism and I believe we will have a peaceful elections.
