The Paramount Chief of Dormaa Traditional Area in the Bono Region and President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Nana Freduah Agyemang Badu II has vowed to resist any attempt by Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to install a paramount chief in Fiapre.
He said Asantehene can not appoint or install a paramount chief in Fiapre and that he will fight with his last blood to save the people of Bono even if it would end him in jail.
“Fiaprehene please, Otumfuo Asantehene cannot install you as a paramount chief. So far as I remain the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Otumfuo cannot install a paramount chief in Fiapre without his approval.It is not possible. Even if the court rules for their favour, I will disobey the ruling, I am ready to go to jail to save Bono people.” Osagyefo Agyemang Badu II vowed.
He made this vow during the one-year anniversary of Dumasua Nkosouhene.
Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II advised Fiaprehene, Obrempong Professor Kyem Amponsah II to reconsider his decision to join the Asanteman Traditional Council and remember that he is settling on somebody’s land.
According to him, the only person who can bless Fiaprehene and install him to Paramount chief is the Odumasi No.1 Paramount Chief.
“Fiaprehene, our brother, he settled on someone’s land in Bono so he must come and let’s go and plead with the chiefs for his elevation. He is not under Otumfuo, I know he is a native of Denkyira but because of war, he first relocated to Techiman before coming to settle in Odumasi No. 1. Dormaahene can not bless Fiaprehene and install him as Paramount chief. The only person who can do that is Paramount chief of Odumasi No.1.” He explained.
Meanwhile, the Odumasi No. 1 Traditional Council in the Sunyani West Municipality of the Bono Region is angry over Fiaprehene, Obrempong Professor Kyem Amponsah II decision to join the Asanteman Traditional Council.
