Hon. Collins Augustine Ntim, the Offinso North current MP and Deputy Minister of Local Government was among the 28 sitting Members of Parliament who were unsuccessful in their bids to secure a nomination for the 2024 elections as he lost to De. Fred Kyei Asamoah.

Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah got 378 votes while Hon. Collins Augustine Ntim got 231 votes meanwhile, Mr. Rockson Kwaku, who was also contesting for the parliamentary candidacy at Offinso North, got only 1 vote.

Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah, in an interview with the media, said he aims to work closely with the delegates of the Offinso North New Patriotic Party members and subsequently with the constituents of Offinso North while prioritizing their needs and concerns when voted in office as their Member of Parliament.

“I want to say that the power that has been entrusted to me by the delegates, I will give it back to them, and if I can do that, then they will have to work and support my work. I pledge to work closely with all the polling station executives, constituency executives, the region, and national executives and this goes beyond just the party because I will work with all my constituents to ensure the development of Offinso North.”

“I understand the importance of effective representation and believe that true power lies with the people. I plan to establish strong channels of communication between myself and the constituents, ensuring that their voices are heard and their issues are addressed.” He said

Dr.  Asamoah explained that “my commitment to giving power back to the constituents is grounded in my belief in accountable and transparent governance. I aim to establish a strong and trusting relationship with my people, where their input is valued and their concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.”

There was a rousing welcome from delegates, party members, and inhabitants of Offinso North when Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah and his campaign team toured the length and breadth of the constituency after he was declared as the winner of the primaries.
