Veteran journalist Kwesi Pratt Jnr. and the communication director of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye have clashed on Accra-based Peace FM over endorsement of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate to NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia by a professor from the University of Cape Coast.
Kwesi Pratt Jnr. accused Miracles Aboagye of claiming that the professor who has worked with the NPP running mate in the past endorsed Napo on behalf of some teacher unions.
“Opanin, the professor from the International Department of the University of Cape Coast who first spoken did not say that he was speaking on behalf of UTAG or for GNAT or something like that he was speaking his mind, but you, Miracles at this studio while speaking after reading the professor’s remarks, added that all teacher unions support his statement,” Pratt Jnr said during a panel discussion on Peace FM on July 5, 2024.
Miracle Aboagye on his part said Kwei Pratt was lying on him which generated a heated argument on a show hosted by Nana Yaw Kesse.
Below is how the conversation happened.
Miracle, “I haven’t said that.”
Pratt, “You said it”
Miracle: “I haven’t said that”
Pratt: “Is up to you”
Miracle ” I’m sitting here; let me clarify what I said,”
Pratt: “Please keep quiet”
Miracle: “No, no, no”
Pratt: “Master, you said that, shut up and let me finish what I am saying.”
Miracles: “Bra Kwesi if you say shut up, you are not been fair with me”
Pratt: “Shut up, who has allowed you to talk, this is my time”
Miracle: “You are lying infront of my face,”
Pratt: “What am I lying about”?
Miracle: “That is exactly what you are doing”
Pratt: “Master, you stop what you are doing”
Miracle: “But I didn’t say that”
Pratt: “Is up to you, if you get your chance you will say that”
Miracle: “I will not allow you to do that so correct it”
Pratt: “I won’t correct anything”
Miracle: “You won’t correct that you are lying on me”
Pratt: “I am not lying, that is what you said.”
Miracle: “I didn’t say that so let me show you what I said”
Pratt: “But did I say the Professor was speaking for NAGRAT?
Miracle: “Yes, You said the Professor is not speaking for all NAGRAT members”
Pratt: “But is that not true?
Miracle: “But who said he spoke for NAGRAT?
Pratt: “You”
Miracle: “I never said that”
Pratt: “If you are saying this is fine”
Miracle: “Let me correct it because you are lying, I never said what you are saying. I won’t sit here for you to lie right in my face.”
Pratt: “Hey, master, I will not going to allow you to misbehave in this studio”
Miracle: “Nana Yaw, for the record, what I said was that the leadership of NAGRAT, CCT, UTAG, and the rest, have worked with Napo personally, and they are giving testimonies. I have never said that they support Napo, the rest is false, I haven’t said that to you. I even told you that one of your sister radio stations heard the president of NAGRAT, “I won’t sit here for you to lie right in my face, it won’t work.”
Pratt: “Master, please, Miracle, in this studio, whoever come here try to respect each other”
Miracle: “Exactly”
Pratt: “You have said something I am not agreed with you”
Miracle: “But I didn’t lied on you, tell me one thing I said and you are not happy I will retract,”
Pratt: “You are not allowed to do that”
Miracle: “I can also understand issue oo, you have lied on me but you don’t want me to correct it, I should sit down for you to lie on me because you are 71 and am younger? When I respected you I didn’t lia. ” He said.
