Ghanaian musician, Belinda Akuaba Amoah widely known as Mzbel has revealed the reason she resigned from Wontumi radio.
Mzbel explained that she quitted her job at Wontumi radio because of poor working conditions.
Speaking in an interview with Ola Michael on Neat FM monitored by Elvisanokyenews.com, Mzbel stated that the working conditions were not good for her so she complained to the management but there was no improvement.
The singer denied allegations that she was not paid at Wontumi radio that is why she resigned.
“The working conditions were not good for me, I made several complaints to the management but there was no improvement so I had to resign.” She said.
Adding that “No, it wasn’t true that I was not paid. They followed the arrangements from the beginning but the working conditions was the only problem. And because of the good relationship I have with Chairman Wontumi, I didn’t want to have any issue with him so I resigned peacefully.”
Answering a question by the host about her political affiliation and joining a pro-NPP station, Mzbel indicated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are not enemies.
According to her, they are all Ghanaians so working at your opponent’s radio station is not a problem.
“I don’t think that NDC and NPP they are enemies, we are all Ghanaians. I needed a job so I told Chairman Wontumi. He called me one day about the job issues and he said the management is working on it and thereafter, they employed me.” She said.
Mzbel joined Wontumi radio in 2023 which generated a lot of reactions on social media.
Many people also raised concerns after the musician resigned from Wontumi radio.
She said despite been affiliated to the NDC, she has a good relationship with the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Wontumi.
