The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Twifo Atti Morkwa Constituency in the Central Region, David Vondee has apologised to the Leaders of the NDC for his comment about the sale of Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) hotels to Food and Agriculture Minister, Bryan Acheampong resulted in peaceful demonstration on the streets’s Rock City Hotel.

“I apologize to the rank and file of all the NDC members who felt that what I said was unpalatable. I apologize to them and I take my words back totally. But you see, I didn’t mean to hurt the NDC and I totally support the position of Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa and the entire well-meaning Ghanaians, including his Excellency John Dramani Mahama and our mother Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang stand about the sale of public assets.”

According to him, he totally supported the position of the NDC on the sale of the SSNIT NDC MP and said he didn’t mean to hurt the NDC.

The NDC MP who defended Bryan Acheampong in an interview in Asempa FM’s EKOSIISEN show said the Agric Minister did no wrong.

” I am very different, look, Bryan is my friend so if I am talking about Bryan issue, I talk about it differently. If you are selling something legally and I have money to buy it, under normal circumstances, I will buy it. So why are we not talking about SSNIT who is seeking to sell our property? And I don’t know how the NDC will listen to me and hear what I am saying now.” He said.

But in a quick U-turn, the MP explained that the host of Asempa FM’ Ekosiisen show didn’t allow him to end his point during the interview.

“I still stand with them. Look, I sponsored people who attended the recent demonstration against the sale of SSNIT hotels. I have been in many platforms, my position is that I don’t support the sale of national asset, what happened at Asempa FM was that, it was at the end of the program, I was the last person who was speaking, and I didn’t end my point, I have been speaking against this in many platforms but unfortunately for me, I didn’t end my point when I was speaking on Asempa FM’ Ekosiisen show.” He explained.

“Unfortunately for me, there was no other video because it was at the end of the program and they ended it so if they were able to listen to me to the end, they would understand me” Hon. David Vondee added.
