The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has appealed to the government to give urgent attention to dozens of deplorable road networks across the constituency that continue to hinder economic activities and access to essential services.
The MP made the appeal during her community engagements, stressing that although some roads within the constituency have already been approved for construction, many others remain in dire condition and require immediate intervention to improve mobility, enhance trade, and support livelihoods.
She noted that communities such as Humgebire, Ankwaso, Juabo, Wuratrem, Amuni, Ankasie, Agona Amenfi, Pensanom, Obeng, Anakum, Fuleso, Kwabeng, Kyeikrom, Ashiam, Jedua Kesse, Kwabuakrom, Manso Manhyia, Asuminam, Bredi, Kwakuboa, Guabase, Ampontengkrom, Donkorkrom, Subriho, Antonsu, Adidaase, Antobam, Akyeamkrom, Anomatoa, Beposo, Natiedi, Ayigbe, Dwete, Kwabikrom, Ohihyeda, Kokonkyea, Pramso, Amokrom, Subriagya, Nuamakrom, Manukrom, Nkwantanan, Supanso, Agave, Wassa Bekwai, Gyaboase, Abuom, Kramokrom, Kwaadjeikrom, among others, continue to struggle with poor road conditions that negatively impact productivity and quality of life.
According to Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the improvement of these roads is essential for opening up the constituency to trade, agriculture, investment, and emergency services. She emphasized that farmers, traders, teachers, health workers, and commuters face daily challenges due to the deteriorated state of the road network.
“I am pleading with government to come to our aid. Aside the roads already approved, we still have many more communities whose roads urgently need attention. Good roads will boost economic activity, improve access to healthcare, support education, and promote safety across Amenfi Central.” She stated.
She reaffirmed her commitment to continuously lobby on behalf of her constituents and called on the Ministry of Roads and Highways, the Ghana Highway Authority, and relevant agencies to prioritize the listed road corridors for swift rehabilitation.
