Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, the Member of Parliament for Techiman North, has commended the Christian Mothers Association for their immense contribution to the empowerment of women in the region.

Speaking at a recent event organized by the association, the MP praised the group’s efforts in providing support, training, and resources to women in the community. She highlighted how the association’s initiatives have helped to uplift and empower women, enabling them to become more self-reliant and active participants in the development of their communities.

“The Christian Mothers Association has been a driving force in the empowerment of women in the country, through their various programs and interventions, they have equipped women with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to take on leadership roles, start their own businesses, and contribute meaningfully to the progress of our constituency.” She said.

The Christian Mother’s Association (CMA) is a National women’s Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in the Catholic Church, Ghana. CMA was formed in the early 1940s by same group of eminent spiritualists for the spiritual and somehow material advancement of orthodox religious women in Ghana. In the past, emphasis was placed on religious activities only in the early 1960s a social worker from Germany by name Dr. Helga Kleinkowski, with the help of some Ghanaian Nuns re-organised the Christian Mother’s Association of Ghana to also Cates for the Socio-economic needs of the members.

The aim of the association is to demonstrate the Christian faith in action by transformation of communities. Worldwide through the  nurture of the family in its many form to promote favorable conditions in society to help family life to be stable for the protection of children and others in difficulty and to support the church.

The MP who is a proud member of the association said, “I will celebrate my 20th anniversary as a member of the Christian Mothers Association by 5th May, 2025, the standard of this association is very high, we give the best of training on how to be a good and supportive wife, how to be a good mother, a good Christian and a responsible person in the society.”

Hon. Elizabeth, encouraged all Catholics especially young ladies in the church to join the Christian Mothers Association as it has the potential to nurture them  into responsible individuals in their communities.
