Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara says the team is bigger than the players and everybody within the club’s administration and that everyone should abide by the laws of the team.

Answering a question during a press conference on the fate of the players in this transfer season, the coach said he won’t foce any player to stay.

He said a lot of players have refused to report to their camp so any player who desires to depart can leave.

He said the Phobians are rebuilding the team ahead of the 2024/25 season and that he is ready to work with anybody who is willing to play for the club.

“If someone says he can’t work for you again why are you forcing him? If anything happens to him on the pitch, who has caused it? For the first time, I have to let people understand teams like Hearts of Oak, Real Madrid, and Juventus. They are not clubs, they are institutions. The institution is there, no coach, no player, nobody is bigger than Hearts of Oak. I have called many players but they have refused to report so what should I do?” He said.

“When we are talking about experience, is not the team is doing well. Sometimes bad things happen and that is experience. If you think everything you are doing is good so you have experience is not true.” He added.

His comment comes after some players have hinted to part ways with the club.

Recently, Hearts of Oak captain, Kofi Agbesimah in an interview stated that he is not happy so he wants to leave the club.

Meanwhile, the club has announced a comprehensive technical review.

“The Management of Accra Hearts of Oak is pleased to inform its cherished fans and stakeholders that the club is undertaking a comprehensive technical review following the just-ended season. The Board’s technical sub-committee has engaged with both Management and the Technical staff to evaluate performance, assess recruitment plans, and strategize for the upcoming 2024/25 season.” The club said in a statement.
