The reigning champions of the Ghana Women’s Premier League, Hasaacas Ladies, have arrived in Bouake, Ivory Coast for the CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers.
The Takoradi-based side touched down in Bouake on Friday following their departure from the Western Region.
Hasaacas Ladies, based in Sekondi-Takoradi, Ghana, has established itself as one of the most successful women’s football clubs in the country. Under the guidance of their experienced coach, Yusif Basigi, the team has consistently performed well in both domestic and international competitions.
The team have won the Ghana Women’s League on 4 occasions (2012–13, 2013–14, 2014–15, 2020-2021), won the Ghana Women’s Special Competition in 2019, the Ghana Women’s FA Cup in 2021, CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone B Qualifiers in 2021 as well as finishing as runners-up in the CAF Women’s Champions League in 2021
The CAF Champions League is the premier club competition for women’s football in Africa, and Hasaacas Ladies is eager to make a strong impression in the qualifiers.
The team is set for their second appearance in the competition after competing in the maiden edition in 2021.
Hasmal Ladies are drawn in Group B and face Omnisports Etincelle from Burkina Faso, Edo Queens from Nigeria and AS Garde National from Niger.
The competition kicks off on Saturday, August 10, but Hasaacas’ first match is on Sunday, August 11.

Draw Procedures
- Two pots will be used for this draw.
- Inter Abidjan as representative of the host country will be seeded in the A1 position.
- Hasaacas Ladies who are the highest ranked club in WAFU B rankings occupy position B1.
- Pot 1 will have five teams. The first ball drawn will be A2, the second B2, the third A3 and the fourth B3.
- In pot 2, the ranking of the seventh team will be determined which will be either A4 or B4.
