GWR didn’t approve my stand-a-thon attempt but I wanted to show Ghanaians I am a man of my words – Patrick Amenuvor

Ghanaian man, Patrick Amenuvor who attempted a “Stand-a-thon” to break the Guinness World Record for longest standing by an individual has revealed that his attempt was unofficial.

According to him, the Guinness World Record did not approve his request to attempt the longest standing marathon by an individual.

Speaking to Joy FM entertainment show, Patrict Amenuvor explained that he attempted the stand-a-thon despite GWR failure to approve his request to prove to Ghanaians that he is a man of his words.

“My attempt was not approved by the Guinness World Record because I was looking for people to help me but I did not get so before the date got closer we saw that we delayed the process. We promised Ghanaians and the flyers came out so people were expecting it to happen so I said fine………No, I am not joking, I am serious. I did to indicate that I am a man of my words.” Patrick revealed.

Patrict Amenuvor attempted a one week standing marathon to break the Guinness World Record for the longest standing marathon by an individual.

His stand-a-thon was scheduled from Sunday, 14 January, 2024 to Sunday, 21 January, 2024 but he called off the attempt on the same day he started.

Explaining why he canceled the standing marathon, he said he violated some rules provided by the Guinness World Record.

Adding that lights outbreak caused him to violate the rules.

According to him, he moved himself when there was a blackout while the standing marathon was in progress which he said violated the rules of Guinness World Record.

“When I did two hours, I decided to do additional three hours again so I stood for another two hours and there was a light out break so I shot myself and we decided that I broke the so let us attempt it next time” He indicated.

Meanwhile, Ghanaian actress and media personality, Adu Safowaah has announced that she will try to break the Guinness World Record for the longest speech marathon by an individual.

According to her, she will speak for 120 hours to break the current 90 hours record held by a Nepalese man.

Adu Safowaah will begin her speech-a-thon attempt from 9th to 14th February 2024.

“Hello Africa, let’s take this Now ! Ghana to the World. Longest speech Marathon. Kindly tag me & @GWR when you post me. #ADUSAFOWAAH SPEECH_A_THON” The Actress announced on her X.

Ghanaian Journalist and Entrepreneur, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum has successfully completed her sing-a-thon attempt waiting for official confirmation from Guinness World Records.

Chef Failatu Abdul Razak also completed the cook-a-thon.
