Social Media users have reacted to jail term for former CEO of Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Sedina Tamakloe Attionu former Chief Operating Officer of MASLOC, Daniel Axim.
The former CEO of MASLOC Sedina Tamakloe Attionu and former Chief Operating Officer of MASLOC, Daniel Axim have been sentenced to ten years in prison and five years in prison with hard labour respectively.
They were both found guilty on 78 counts of causing financial loss to the state, stealing, conspiracy to steal, money laundering, and causing loss to public property in contravention of public procurement law.
Reacting to the sentence on X, some Ghanaians are excited about the judgement.
According to them, the decision of the court will serve as a deterrent to others and also called on the Judicial service to ensure that other government officials who have embezzled state funds should also be jailed.
One person said “the future is really pregnant for these npp criminals. the long arm of justice will surely catch up with those npp criminals. the npp criminals have cause huge financial lost to the state more than what this lady has done, and their days are numbered” He wrote.
“Let Cecilia Dappah follow and a lot of NPP appointees” Another one said.
Some also urged the political parties to avoid accusing their opponents of witch-hunting when a judgement goes against their party members.
“Good to hear When it’s goes the other way nobody should come and say it’s witch-hunting We are calm” He stated.
“That same long arm is still pressing…let’s see same energy when it finally catches others from the party you belong to and won’t call it political a witch-hunting!”
