As part of preparation for a one-week observance of the late Paramount Chief of Goaso, Nana Kwasi Bosomprah, the Goaso Traditional Council has banned public Valentine’s Day parties within the Goaso traditional area.

According to the chiefs, the entire residents within the Goaso traditional area are mourning and for that matter no one should be party while others are in agony.

Addressing the media, the spokesperson for the Goaso Traditional Council warned that anyone who will defy the rules and order to be involved in any form of celebrations on valentine day will face sanctions.

He said anyone who wants to celebrate valentine day should do it quietly in his room.

“We will not let you go scout free. The Traditional Council has banned valentine but if you wish to celebrate Valentine’s Day, do it quietly in your room. No celebration in the public, clubs, hotels, no valentine party. Anyone who will defy the rules will be dealt with drastically.” The spokesperson warned.

Adding that “We are in mourning, and so all of us should mourn together, some can not mourn while others are enjoying a valentine party. If you want to have a valentine’s party , do it quietly in your room, we are mourning.”

The Goaso Traditional Council , on Monday, December 23, officially announced the passing of the 58 year-old Nana Kwasi Bosomprah who reigned for 17 years.

Meanwhile, Otumfuo’s linguist, Kyeame Antwi Boasiako, earlier announced the death of Nana Kwasi Bosomprah during an Asanteman Council meeting on December 16, 2024.

Goasomanhene, who by tradition, was the chief palm wine tapper of the Asantehene died at the Sunyani Regional Hospital after a short illness.
