Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artist, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr also known as Shatta Wale has appealed to Ghanaian voters to give former president John Dramani Mahama and the NDC another chance to rule the country.

According to Shatta Wale, the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s flagbearer was doing everything possible for the Ghanaian youth to survive when he was in power.

He said the then Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah also respected him (Shatta Wale) as an artist and was supporting a lot of artistes in the country.

“Give Mahama one more chance again, because you see, Mahama when he was in power, was doing everything for every youth to survive. I was getting opportunities from the presidency, for instance Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, he was always giving me stuff as an artist, he respected me as an artist. I believe he was not dealing with me alone, he was dealing with VIP and many artists.” Shatta Wale said in an interview with Joy Fm.

The self-acclaimed dancehall king lamented the support he was getting from the then NDC government to promote his project and other stuff that can not be seen in current NPP administration.

Shatta Wale recounted how the NDC government supported his back-to-school project.

“But you can not get it from this current government. Let me just put it straight, I was doing a back-to-school project, which was my project, anytime I go to my village’s schools, I give them exercise books, stationery and stuff. And I spoke to one of them in the government, and he took me from one office to the other and before  I realized there was support for my project.” He said.

The various political parties have intensified their campaign as the country left with only three days to face what others described as crucial elections.

Saturday, 7th December will be a busy day in Ghana as the citizens will elect their new president and Members of Parliaments.
