Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential aspirant, Kennedy Agyapong has reiterated that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is not an alternative for the development of Ghana.
The Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency admitted that there are hardships in the country but a change of government will make it worse.
According to him, it is important to vote for the flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia since continuity is important in nation building.
Speaking at the 2024 campaign launch of the NPP in Ablekuma South in Greater Accra, Ken Agyapong stated that there is hardship in the country but is better off when you still have NPP in power.
“Stability is important, I must first admit that there are hardships in this country. Do you know what will happen tomorrow? Tomorrow might be worse if you change NPP. Because this thing happened in 2008 and we saw the alternative. So I am begging you, I know it is hard but Ghana is better off when you still have the NPP in power.” Ken Agyapong said.
The outspoken Member of Parliament said Ghanaians should trust Dr. Bawumia and give him the mandate as the president of the Republic of Ghana to make the economy stable.
“And therefore I am not selfish, because I lost so I don’t care about NPP, I don’t care about Dr. Bawuma. Then I am not a patriotic citizen if I don’t care about Dr. Bawumia and the NPP. That is why I am here to speak with you and plead with you that you will vote for our presidential candidate then you also vote for Dr. Bawumia for continuity and stability.” He added.
Kennedy Agyapong has vowed not to contest as an Independent despite some misunderstanding that occurred during the NPP presidential primaries.
He believes supporting his party, the NPP indicates his commitment and patriotism.
Some political actors believe with the full support from Kennedy Agyapong, the NPP can break the 8.
