The New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate for Ahafo Ano South East in the just ended 2024 elections and member of the Ghana Football Executive Council, Fredrick Owusu Amankwah Acheampong, popularly known as Fred Achee, says he is grateful to all those who supported during his campaign.
In a post circulating on WhatsApp, Fred Achee, although he didn’t win the elections, said he is humbled and honored by those who placed their confidence in him and wanted him to be their Member of Parliament, hence expressing his profound gratitude to the voters in Ahafo Ano South East who voted for him.
“We lost the elections. I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who helped me with my campaign. I especially want to thank the voters in Ahafo Ano South East Constituency who voted for me and placed their confidence in me wanting me to be their Member of Parliament. I am humbled and honoured.” A portion of the post reads.
According to him, he and his campaign team, put a lot of measures in place to ensure the victor of Dr. Bawumia and himself at the Ahafo Ano South East constituency however things didn’t go his place but he is grateful to all those who had faith in him.
“In January , when I won the NPP Primaries, a well thought-out plan was devised that would take Dr Bawumia and I to victory on Election Day, regardless of the opponent.
“That plan included pushing for the communities without electricity to be connected to the national grid, securing telephone network access for those communities without connectivity, securing job opportunities for our youth , placing some of the youth into tertiary schools, improving the road networks, offering portable water supply to some communities, and improving the general livelihood of our people, meeting the voters face-to-face, getting my message out on a personal level, and letting the “voters see just who I am. We accomplished that on many fronts.
When all was said and done, I had knocked on many doors, walking the vast majority of the constituency severally. To the voters of Ahafo Ano South East, a big thank you.” He said.
The post continued, “I can’t forget the various “FRIENDS OF ACHEE” clubs and other groups and clubs who worked tirelessly towards this election. TEAM ACHEE & VOLUNTEERS- The committee was organized, energized and driven. Thank you.
“I am very humbled by the support everyone has given me. GOD’s TIME IS THE BEST”
Yakubu Mohammed of the NDC pulled 15,609 of the total vote cast while Fredrick Owusu Amankwah Acheampong got 14,152 out of the 29,761 total votes cast
