The flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama believes a good government with proper policies can make more impact in the shortest years in office.
He said four years of a good leader will make more impact than eight years of a dishonest leader.
Speaking during the NDC 2024 Election Campaign Launch in Tamale, the former president stated that It is not about how long a leader serves to make an impact in the economy but it is about how well he serves.
“Four years of a good leader will make more impact than eight years of a dishonest leader. It is not about how long you serve, it is about how well you serve. It is not about eight years or four years, it is about hard work, it is about truth, it is about trust and it is about bringing the things that will create a future for our young people.” Mr. Mahama stated.
According to him, the NDC is the only government that can turn the nation around so Ghanaians should go out there and vote for them in the December 7 polls.
“And that is why the NDC is calling on you on 7th December, to do your duty to your God and country so that we can turn this nation around.” He said
John Dramani Mahama described his opponent, the NPP government as a government living in an illusion.
“This government is living in an illusion, they are living in a dream world, they are living in a fantasy world. Because if you are not living in an illusion, when people are hungry how can you tell them they are satisfied? Meanwhile, the statistics show that 8 million of our citizens last year in 2023, went 24 hours without food because they couldn’t afford to buy food.” Mahama lamented.
He continued “The statistics tells us that almost two (2) million of our young people are sitting at home, they are not in school, they are not in education, they are not in training, and they are not in employment. They are just sitting at home idle. ”
