Head coach Aduana Stars, Yaw Acheampong has expressed his disappointment in his team’s inability to capitalize on numerous first-half chances.
The Dormaa based team shared the points at the Nana Agyeman Badu I park against Heart of Lions in their first game of the 2024 / 2025 Ghana Premier League campaign.
Yaw Acheampong’s side was the better side of both teams especially in the first 45 minutes of the game where they created a lot of decent chances but they failed to utilize any of such chances in the first half.
Despite their numerous chances in the first 45 minutes of the game, Aduana Stars found themselves trailing on the 85minute when Mustapha Yakubu scored the first goal for the visitors, Heart of Lions.
However, Emmanuel Marfo restored parity for Aduana in the 95 minutes.
Coach Yaw Acheampong in his post match conference explained that although Heart of Lions played a good game, his side was the better team especially in the first half of the match and deserved to end up with all three points.
“We are a little bit disappointed but as a coach, you have to motivate yourself and your team, we should have won the game in the first half because we played and dictated the pace of the game in the first half.
“The fans were also fantastic especially in the first half, they gave us the needed support and it was very unfortunate that we couldn’t score a goal in the first half.
“But seriously the boys played very well, I don’t know they couldn’t capitalize all their chances but that is football, maybe if we were able to score all the chances we got in the first half, we would have said a different thing now.” He said
As the season progresses, fans and supporters will be eagerly watching Aduana Stars’ performances, hoping to see the team capitalize on their chances and secure victories.
Aduana will play away to Bechem United in their second game of the season.
