A professional football club based in Barcelona, Barcelona and familiarly as Barça has sacked their head coach Xavi Hernandez and has appointed German professional football manager and former player, Hans-Dieter “Hansi” Flick  as the new head coach for the La Liga champions.

Reports say the management have completed the contract for Hansi Flick on a two year deal which is expected to end in June 2026.

Pini Zahavi, agent for Barcelona’s new head coach and manager, Hansi Flick says he is okay with the deal.

Hansi Flick will bring two German assistants as part of his staff at Barcelona to support his job.

Barcelona is one of the most widely supported teams in the world, and the club has one of the largest social media following in the world among sports teams.

FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta officially informed Xavi Hernández of his exit after their crucial meeting on Friday.

Xavi will lead Barcelona as a head coach to face Sevilla in Sunday’s game.

Hans-Dieter “Hansi” Flick played for Bayern Munich and rejoined the team as an assistant coach in 2019, Flick was made interim manager following the departure of Niko Kovač in November 2019.

The removal of head coach for FC Barcelona has sparked a lot of reactions from the supporters.

Others believe the decision will affect Barcelona in the matches ahead but some say the spirit of the team is still working.

One supporter on social media X post indciated that there is always preasure at FC Barcelona camp.

The football club is yet to make a public statement about the new head coach of the team.

FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta expressed his profound gratitude to Xavi Hernández for the change and inspiration he brought in the team.
