Ghana Premier League giant, Kumasi Asante Kotoko is gearing up for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season as the club has signed their third player.
The new player accepted to wear the Kotoko jersey is Great Olympics midfielder, Emmanuel Antwi.
The 24-year old midfielder signed a three-year contract with the Porcupines after his deal with the Great Olympics expired.
“We are pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Emmanuel Antwi on a three-year contract.” The Football Club announced.
Kotoko signed Emmanuel Antwi for the next season after the player’s commitment and dedication during his time with the Great Olympics where he made 26 appearances in the 2023/24 GPL.
The youngster contributed six goals and five assists.
According to the new Asante Kotoko signee, he dreamt to play for the Kumasi-based club from his childhood and that it is great pleasure for him to wear Kotoko Jersey.
He expressed optimism that the other players will help him to achieve his goal in football, especially with the Porcupine Warriors.
Emmanuel Antwi follows two sudanese, forward AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub and defender Esmat Hassabalbagi from The Hay Alwady of Sudan and Al Hilal respectively who are on a a year contract each with a club option of a permanent deal as part of the club’s rebuilding ahead of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko after the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League parted ways with about 22 players following their sixth position on the table.
The club is convinced that with the new player, they will perform better than the previous season.
The Porcupine Warriors are expected to sign another player in their rebuilding process.
