Election 2024: Slim Buster composes song for Mahama

In every election, celebrities and media personalities declare their support for their favourite political party and leader they think is the best to deliver to their expectations.

This year is not different from other years where stars endorse political parties of their interest to campaign.

Ghana will hold its general elections on 7th December, 2024.

The battle is mainly between the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the largest National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Ahead of the poll, Ghanaians musician, Ebenezer Asare popularly known as Slim Buster has composed a song for the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama .

Slim Buster, who is known for his iconic dance moves in a video, declared his support for the former president.

In a portion of the song shared by the musician, he said it is the time for John Dramani Mahama led NDC to take over so Ghanaians should vote for him on 7th December.

He also called on Ghanaians to exit the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to pave a way for the NDC.

Amidst singing and dancing to the song, Slim Buster could be heard saying, “2024, 24 monto ema JM (to wit): 2024 vote for JM. taking over, Mahama is taking over. 2024 let us show the NPP the exit.”

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is determined to break the 8 with the Vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as their flagbearer while the NDC on the other hand has vowed to take over to win the election with former president, John Dramani Mahama as their flagbearer.

Many Ghanaians are calling for change of power ahead of the elctions due to economic hardship but the NPP in several occasions cited COVID-19 and Russian-Ukraine war as major factors that caused economic hardship globally.

Despite the criticism, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and the flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed optimism that Ghana can be developed like other countries in the continent.

He said he has no doubt that the country will one day prove to the world that Ghana has transformed beyond expectations.

In a new year message, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Bawumia encouraged Ghanaians to trust the government in their transformation agenda and come together to build a better Ghana.

The Vice President reiterated the NPP government commitment to transform the country through digitalization.

“Beloved Ghanaians, I must reaffirm our government commitment to making life better for all our citizens. We shall continue our effort to build a modern and resilient economy characterized by digitalization. We shall continue making young people future ready. We shall continue to create greater opportunities for every man to fulfill their dreams and aspirations. It is possible” He assured.
