The 2024 Voters Exhibition Exercise which was initially scheduled to begin on August 1 has been postponed to start on August 20 and end on August 27, 2024.

In a press release signed by Deputy Director, Research, Monitoring and valuation of the Electoral Commission, Fred Tetteh said the postponement of the 2024 Voters Exhibition Exercise was as result of mop-up voter registration exercise which is set to take place from August 1 to August 3, 2024.

“The Commission wishes to inform the General Public that in the view of Mop-Up Voter Registration Exercise slated for 1st to the 3rd of August 2024, the Exhibition of the Provisional Voters Register has been rescheduled to take place from 20th to the 27th of August, 2024.” The release said.

The Eletoral Commission encouraged all eligible voters to participate in the Exhibition Exercise in order to exercise their franchise in the December 7 Polls.

“The Commission encouraged the Public to participate in the Exhibition Exercise.” Part of the release read.

Meanwhile, the EC has urged the public to follow proper procedure in 2024 special voting exercise.

Outlining modalities for the 2024 special voting exercise, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Adukwei Mensa stated that ” if you initially registered in 2020 for example, you registered in constituency A but has since moved to a new constituency B and you want to vote as a special voter in constituency B, it is not automatic, you must take advantage of transfer of vote and you must transfer your vote from constituency A to constituency B to enable you to vote during the special voting exercise.”

“If an applicant fails to transfer his or her votes to constituency B and apply for special voting, the applicant name will not appear in constituency B because he or she will not have transferred their vote. Their names will still be in constituency A where they initially registered as voters.” She stated.
