Mrs. Mary Yeboah, Manageress of Ebenezer Cooperative Credit Union, has described the past 30 years of operating the financial institution as challenging but rewarding.

She made the remarks in an exclusive interview with our reporter ahead of the Union’s 30th anniversary and Annual General Meeting scheduled for December 15, 2025.

According to Mrs. Yeboah, the Union has expanded its services beyond Techiman, opening branches in the Savannah Region at Wenchi in 2011 and at Banda Nkwanta in 2015. She noted that the journey has not been easy, with many hurdles along the way, but God has turned every challenge into a blessing.

“With 30 years of operating as a financial institution, we have been able to open branches in the Savannah Region at Wenchi in 2011 and another branch at Banda Nkwanta in 2015. The journey has not been easy, there have been many hurdles along the way but God has turned every challenge into a blessing.” She said.

She further revealed that over the years, the Union has faced several false reports suggesting it was collapsing, which occasionally led to panic withdrawals. Despite these challenges, the Union has remained strong, serving its members faithfully for three decades.

“Over the years, we have experienced several fake reports claiming that the Union was collapsing, which sometimes led to panic withdrawals. Despite these challenges, God has kept us strong for the past 30 years, and we remain deeply grateful.” She stated.

She also noted that the Union is a proud sponsor of Classic FM’s Agyanka Bewe Akoko program and supports the Municipal Assembly in celebrating Farmers’ Day and other civic events.

Additionally, the Union provides financial support to the Techiman Traditional Council whenever required. Many Senior High Schools, including Techiman Senior High School, have benefitted from the Union’s Corporate Social Responsibility activities over the past 30 years.
