Ghanaian Media Personality, Bridget Otoo has described as unfair for Stonebwoy to be crowned the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year.

She believes Ghanaian highlife and afrobeats singer-songwriter, Gregory Bortey Newman widely known as King Promise had a better year that Stonebwoy as should have been recognized as such.

The TV presenter understands that Artist of the Year should be given to someone whose song goes beyond the continents and King Promise is the right person who has achieved that milestone.

Ghanaian Afropop, Afro-dancehall and reggae musician, Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy won the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, June 1.

Reacting to this, Bridget Otoo said “Guys be fair, are you people saying Stonebwoy has had a better year than King Promise? Or the artist of the year is given to the one who doesn’t have mic problems on the night of the music award?” She wrote on her X.

“Thank God I don’t have fave but sitting on the outside and looking at the year King Promise has had it would be unfair to deny him that!” She added.

The outspoken media personality stressed that King Promised song was global and that he was supposed to be crowned the Artist of the Year.

“You people are not serious one bit! I still believe so, because his song was global! But if they give it to Stonebwoy looking at the awards he’s picked tonight, nothing spoil!” She indicated.

“I will still be eating. I won’t lose hair… I sincerely believe we must reward artistes whose songs cross continents, it is sth we are struggling with and King Promise did that, for even someone like me to notice! Now you can sleep”

Meanwhile, King Promise beats likes of Stonebwoy,Sarkodie, Kidi, Kuami Eugene and others to win ‘Most Popular Song of the Year’
