Renowned Sports Journalist, Saddick Adams has criticised Accra Hearts of Oak for losing the Democracy Cup to their rival, Kumasi Asante Kotoko who played with new signed players.
Asante Kotoko beat Hearts of Oak 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium to claim the Democracy Cup on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
Kotoko faced their counterpart with young and new players such as Frederick Asare, Emmanuel Kotei, Esmat Abdulhamid, Justice Blay, Samba Oniel, Bernard Somuah, Elvis Kyei, Emmanuel Antwi, Baba Yahaya, Andrews Ntim, Peter Amidu against the old players of Hearts of Oak.
Reacting to the results, the Angel FM presenter lamented how Hearts of Oak allowed just signed players who have not play even friedly match beat them.
He said how can you let a team that signed players only this morning beat you in the evening?
“Hearts of Oak paaaa. How can you let a team that signed players only this morning beat you in the evening.” Saddick Adams wrote on his X.
“Argh” He added.
According to him, the Phobians should have performed better and snatched the Democracy Cup form Kotoko.
Kotoko are preparing to face the next season of the Ghana Premier League with a new strengh hence, the rebuilding of the team.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak are set to party ways with twelve players ahead of the 2024/24 season after they finished 14th in the Ghana Premier League table and subsequently, lost the Democracy Cup to Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
It look like the performances of the two Premier League Giants are not up to the expectations of their fans.
Hearts of Oak has also announced a thorogh Technical Review ahead of the 2024/25 seasion.
Both Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko want to surprise their fans and supporter in the next season.
