A NPP parliamentary candidate hopeful for the Sunyani West Constituency, Mr. Mubarak Abdullah Ciessey, has revealed that he has what it takes to lead the party to victory come December 7th, 2024..
According to him, members of the New Patriotic Party approached him to represent them as their candidate and subsequently win the seat for the party.
Mr. Mubarak, said should delegates of the governing NPP vote for him as their candidate, he will repay their faith in him by winning the Sunyani West Constituency Parliamentary seat for the party since he cuts across both the NPP and NDC.
“Members of the party usually scout through the rank and file of the party to identify and approach an individual they believe have the talent and potential to do a particular job for them. It wasn’t different in my case, sometime back, the party came to me and asked me to lead them as their candidate for parliamentary elections.”
“I gave it a thought and realize that if I accept to lead them as their parliamentary candidate, it will help because if they have seen such leadership qualities in me then it will be wrong to turn them down, so I have promised them to represent them as their parliamentary candidate and win the seat back for the NPP.” He said.
According to him, Sunyani West Constituency is a traditional stronghold for the NPP but the narratives have changed since 2016, a narrative he aimed to rectify hence his decision to contest for the NPP primaries.
The New Patriotic Party will on 27th January hold its primaries to select candidates that will lead the party in the various constituencies for the December 7 elections. Mr. Mubarak Abdullah Ciesse, is of the view that members especially delegates of the NPP in the Sunyani West Constituency have high hopes for him as they have seen the good works he has been doing in the constituency.
He also promised to relieve the constituents of their burden should he be given the nod to represent them at the floor of parliament by “providing employment opportunities, start-up capitals to the youth and women and ensure the construction of quality roads in the constituency.”
Mr. Mubarak Abdullah Ciesse, who is third on the ballot sheet said he is “an epitome of development, unity including many others” and therefore appealed to the delegates of the NPP in Sunyani West to vote massively for him come January 27, 2024.
