The children of the late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, have strongly denied reports circulating on social media suggesting a rift between them and their mother, Mrs Akosua Serwah Fosuh, describing the claims as false, malicious and deeply offensive.

In a statement issued in Accra on January 20, 2026, the family said it was disturbed by narratives alleging tension within the family, including suggestions that their mother could be arrested for speaking or writing on their behalf.

According to the children, there is no conflict whatsoever, stressing that their relationship with their mother remains strong, loving and united.

They also condemned what they described as reckless accusations against individuals who have offered support to the family during this period, particularly claims that such gestures were driven by ulterior motives.

The children said such allegations were unfair and only served to fuel unnecessary speculation and division.

Reaffirming their position, the children stated that their loyalty to their mother is unwavering, adding that rumours suggesting otherwise were deliberate falsehoods.

They urged the public to ignore and refrain from amplifying misinformation, noting that such narratives were not only harmful to the family but also disrespectful to the memory and legacy of their late father, whose contribution to Ghana’s music and cultural heritage remains significant.

We, the children of Mrs. Akosua Serwah Fosuh and the late Mr. Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, wish to address certain disturbing and misleading narratives currently circulating on social media.

We are deeply concerned by comments and insinuations suggesting that we are in conflict with our mother, that there are intentions to “arrest” her for speaking or writing on our behalf, or that there is tension between us as children and our mother. There claims are entirely false, malicious, and baseless.

Even more troubling are the unfounded accusations directed at individuals such as Kenpong, who is being unfairly portrayed as having ulterior motives simply because he has offered support to our mother and to us, her children, during this difficult period in Ghana. Such allegations are reckless, misleading, and deeply unfair.

We wish to state clearly and unequivocally that our relationship with our mother is strong, loving and respectful. We speak with her every morning and every evening. The bond we share is one of trust, affection, and unity. The suggestion that we would ever turn against the woman who carried us for mine months, nurtured us, and continues to guide us is not only absurd but deeply offensive.

We state this without ambiguity: our loyalty is, and will always remain, with our mother. We stands with her fully-emotionally, morally, and unconditionally. Our bond is strong genuine, and unbreakable.

It is painful to witness how some individuals fabricate rumors and spread falsehoods purely for attention, clicks, and social media engagement. These narratives are harmful, divisive, and unhealthy-not only for our family but also for the memory and legacy of our late father.

We therefore urge the public and all social media users to disregard these ramous and refrain from amplifying negativity. Our family is united. There is no conflict between us and our mother. Any claims to the contrary are deliberately falsehoods.

Our late mother did no harm to Ghana. On the contrary, he gave Ghana some of its finest Highlife music and contributed immensely to the nations cultural heritage. It is deeply unfair that his family should now be subjected to distress and misinformation.

And we stand firmly, proudly, and permanently with our mother.
