The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has promised to reset and repair the damage President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia led NPP government has caused to the economy.
He said Ghanaians are experiencing the unprecedented hardships due to clueless and incompetent administration of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
The former president made this promise in a reference to a post by Nana Addo who was then in opposition.
Nana Addo then accused the governing NDC of bad leadership because the currency (Ghana cedis) was 3.72 against the US dollar.
“The current depreciation of the Ghana Cedis against the US Dollar is because of BAD leadership. We should not be where we are today to buy dollars for 3.72. Vote for change” Nana Addo posted.
Reacting to this as compared to the current rate of GHC 15 against the US dollar, Mr. Mahama described the economy as a damage which needs to be repaired.
He said parochial interest and family and friends are the reasons Ghanaians are suffering, hence, the need for change of government.
“An obviously clueless, incompetent & ‘yenkyendi’ government. The $ is today trading above 15 GHC. I promise Ghanaians, I will RESET and repair the damage to the Ghanaian economy.”
