The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has called off its strike after a constructive meeting between the government and their Executives on Friday, 12th July, 2024.

CLOGSAG in a communique signed by Executive Secretary, Isaac Bampoe Addo said the government has agreed to  the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on the 19th January, 2022. And assured them that the process for finalization of the Salary Structure would be completed by 31st October, 2024 and implemented with effect from 1st January, 2025.

“The Government acknowledged and committed itself to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on the 19th January, 2022, and gave an assurances that the process for finalization of the Salary Structure would be completed by 31st October, 2024 and implemented with effect from 1st January, 2025.” The communique said.

“On the basis of the above, CLOGSAG agreed to call off the strike with immediate effect. Consequently, the strike in relation to the salary structure is hereby called off.” Part of the communique read.

The Government of Ghana represented by the Office of the Senior Presidential Adviser, the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations (MELR) and Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) on one hand, and the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) on the other hand met on 12th July, 2024.

The Parties showed commitment towards the resolution of pertinent issues relating to the salary structure for the Staff of the Civil Service and the Local Government Service.
