Accra West Regional Overseer of the Resurrection Power and Living Bread Ministries International, Rev. Yaw Owusu-Ansah has described plot against the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia by a group of Ghanaian pastors ahead of the General election as a childish.
He said advising people to vote against Dr. Bawumia because he is a Muslim is discrimination and one should not discriminate when preaching Christ.
“One prominent pastor posted a flyer on our pastor’s WhatsApp platform and they were passing comments and the pastor said the pastors should tell their congregations not to vote for a Muslim in the upcoming elections, and I said I have evidence of Muslims who listen to me. Respectfully, I can’t mention your name because of your prominence, so when you speak like that it sounds childish to me.” Rev. Yaw Owusu-Ansah said on Adom Ahengua program on Adom FM.
According to him, such a statement from a prominent pastor creates disunity because not everybody believes in his Philosophy and Ideology.
“You are a leader of this big church, so why do you create disunity? Pastor, you have an influence in this country so why do you say this on the page? I am ashamed of you, this is discrimination, when we are preaching Christ, we don’t discriminate. You can advise people but that statement you made, do you think all of us believe in your Philosophy and Ideology, and your heart desires? It is a childish decision.” He said.
“Pastor, I have answered you here but I won’t mention your name but I know you posted on the platform and allowed people to condemn that (Muslim). You can’t influence people in that negative manner. Please I beg you if possible take that flyer out from the page but it has already gone viral.”
