Chelsea signs Kazakhstan rising star Dastan Satpaev in a record-breaking deal

Chelsea FC has officially announced the signing of 16-year-old Kazakhstan rising star, Dastan Satpaev from Kairat Almaty in a record transfer fee.

The young striker has agreed to a five-year contract with the Blues, plus a one-year option, in a deal worth €4 million, including add-ons. However, Satpaev will remain at Kairat Almaty for the time being, with his move to Stamford Bridge scheduled for the summer of 2026 when he turns 18 years.

Dastan Satpaev will not be new at Stamford Bridge when he joins the team in the summer of 2026 as he has already spent time on trial at Cobham in late 2024.

The 16-year-old Kazakh international, known for his impressive technical skills and vision on the field, has showcased his talent at youth levels, scoring 28 goals and providing 10 assists in 32 matches for Kairat’s junior teams. In the UEFA Youth League this season, he has already registered one goal and one assist in four appearances. Additionally, for the Kazakhstan national team, Satpaev has scored four goals in 10 matches.

He joined FC Kairat Almaty at the age of eight and he became the youngest player in the club’s history to make a first-team appearance when he made his senior debut in May 2024.

Satpaev, who has been a standout performer in the Kazakh League, is regarded as one of the top prospects in Central Asia. His dynamic playing style and ability to dictate play have caught the attention of scouts across Europe, and Chelsea has acted swiftly to secure his services.

Satpaev’s arrival will add to a growing list of exciting youth prospects joining the Blues, who are keen to integrate top talent into their first team over the coming years. Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez will both arrive at the club this summer, when they turn 18, while the likes of Andrey Santos, Marc Guiu, Aaron Anselmino and Romeo Lavia have also joined the Stamford Bridge outfit over the past two-and-a-half years.

Satpaev’s move marks a historic moment for the Kazakhstan Premier League, with the €4 million transfer fee setting a new record transfer fee for the league.
