Former Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Anbataayela Mornah has asked theruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to resign if they can not solve the mess in the country.

He said change of government comes when a country is in crisis to solve the problems but is it pathetic that the current government uses difficulties the country faced during the previous administration to defend the current economic hardships in the country.

Speaking on TV3 NewDay show monitored by Elvisanokyenews.com, Bernard Monah stated that it is useless for a country to change government if the sitting government will use his predecessor’s challenges as a defence of the current hardships.

“It hurts that when we are talking about our present predicament they are telling us that why are you complaining because you suffered a similar predicament yesterday. I can’t get it. If that has become the basis upon which governance is done, then it is useless for us to continue to change government. Because you change the government and the government’s solution to your problem, look, you suffered under a condition of the previous government so suffer this condition.” He said.

“Who is refusing to do proper monitoring and allowing us to go through these scandals? It doesn’t sit well with me that you come and sit on a show, yes, under NDC, they owned nine (9) months, they had I.2 billion and so what? The crisis we face today is not the crisis we faced under NDC. In any case, you were called upong to come and fix that mess. If you are not able to fix the mess as Akufo-Addo will say, if the kitchen is too hot, get out of it.” Bernard Monah stated.

He said Ghanaians are suffering to the extent that the National Health Insurance doesn’t do anything.

According to him, it is unacceptable that service providers who are being paid give prescriptions to patients to go out and buy their medications themselves.

“Why? I am terrified, look, as we sit, the majority of our people go to the hospitals and their health insurance are taken. After they have taken your health insurance number they will come back and tell you we don’t have the medications so you take the prescriptions and now go out there to buy the medications and yet we keep paying to service providers who have referred and given us prescriptions to go out there to go and buy our medications.”
