The Centre for Social Democracy has filed Right to Information (RTI) request to ascertain whether President Nana Dankwa Akufo-Addo government has submitted his handing-over notes covering his term in office.
This request, according to the Civil Society Organization (CSO) is in accordance of requirements of Section 6(4) of the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (843).

“We hereby submit this request for information regarding the requirements of Section 6(4) of the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (843). The specific information requested is.” The CSO said in a statement signed by Fellow CSD-Ghana, William Agbodo.

“Whether or not the office of the President has submitted comprehensive handing-over notes covering his term of office as the President of the Republic.” The statement added.

They also demand whether the said handing-over notes cover “Office of the President, Vice President, and the agencies under the portfolios of the Office of the President and Vice President. Ministries, Departments, and Agencies. Regional Ministers and District Chief Executives.”

RIGHT TO INFORMATION (RTI) REQUEST PURSUANT TO SECTION 18 OF THE RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT, 2019 (ACT 989)

We hereby submit this request for information regarding the requirements of Section 6(4) of the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (843). The specific information requested is:

1. Whether or not the office of the President has submitted comprehensive handing-over notes covering his term of office as the President of the Republic.

2. If yes, please provide the date the handing-over notes were submitted to your office.

3. Whether or not the said handing-over notes cover the activities of the following offices:

a. Office of the President, Vice President, and the agencies under the portfolios of the Office of the President and Vice President.

b. Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.

c. Regional Ministers and District Chief Executives.”

We are hopeful that this Right to Information request will revive lawful compliance in an expedited manner to enable us continue our civic duties as citizens.
