Carlo Ancelotti: Kylian Mbappé can reach Cristiano Ronaldo’s level at Real Madrid

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has expressed his belief that Kylian Mbappé Lottin has the potential to reach the legendary status of Cristiano Ronaldo at the club.

The 26-year-old French forward endured a slow start to his Real Madrid career but he is currently in a  sensational form, and his impact at the Santiago Bernabéu has drawn comparisons to the Portuguese icon.

Kylian Mbappe had a hat-trick in Real Madrid’s 3-1 win over Manchester City that knocked the Premier League club out of the Champions League.

Speaking to the media, Ancelotti praised Mbappé’s talent, consistency, and goal-scoring ability, emphasizing that the 26-year-old has all the qualities needed to replicate Ronaldo’s success in Madrid.

Mbappé has already proven to be a crucial figure for Los Blancos this season, contributing to 30 goals in 37 games across all competitions. His ability to score, create chances, and perform in big moments has made him one of the most feared attackers in world football despite his slow start of the season.

“He has the quality to reach his numbers, but he has to work, because Cristiano set the bar very high, but he is so excited to play here, he can reach Cristiano’s level,” Ancelotti told a news conference.

Ancelotti continued, “Everyone was waiting for this hat trick from him and it has finally arrived. But Mbappé is not the only one, we have many players who make a difference. And they make a difference with their collective work above their individual quality which is remarkable.”

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro, became Real Madrid’s all-time top scorer with 450 goals in 438 appearances, set a benchmark for excellence during his nine-year spell at the club. While matching those numbers is a daunting challenge, Mbappé’s current trajectory suggests he could carve out his own legendary status at the Bernabéu.
