Bono East: NPP pledges to maintain peace, harmony in the region, Ghana

The Bono East Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reaffirmed its commitment in upholding the peace and harmony of the region and Ghana as a whole  before, during, and after the 2024 general elections.

The party, made this pledge during a public lecture on peaceful elections conducted by the Brong Ahafo Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, the party, made it clear that it will not tolerate any form of violence in the region.

The Bono East Regional NPP believes that maintaining peace and harmony is essential for the development and progress of the region and the country. They recognize that violence and conflicts can hinder economic growth, disrupt social cohesion, and undermine the well-being of citizens. Therefore, they have pledged to work towards a peaceful and harmonious election process.

Speaking to Elvisanokyenews.com, the Bono East 2nd Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Baba Ahmed Abdallah, called on the youth especially members of the party and the general public to remain calm and peaceful during the elections.

Baba Ahmed  also urged political opponents to engage in a peaceful and respectful campaign, avoiding any actions that could incite the youth to engage in any violence.

“I am a youth and we know the role the youth plays during elections and I can emphatically say that, we the youth in Bono East Region, especially those of us in the New Patriotic Party will not do anything to bring shame to the party.

“So the unfortunate incident that happened during the last elections will never happen again, we the youth of Bono East are more that determine to go to the polls peacefully and return home peacefully, we pray to Allah to grant us peaceful elections.

“We know the NPP is working towards breaking the 8 and I want to assure the public that we will break the 8 without committing any form of violence, we are not ready for any violence of any form before, during, and after the upcoming elections.” He said.

The Bono East Regional NPP has emphasized that they will do everything in their power to prevent violence and maintain peace in the region. They believe that through peaceful means, they can achieve their political goals and contribute to the overall development of Ghana.

East Regional Nasara Coordinator  Jibril Abubakar,  said “we have attended the public lecture for peaceful elections 2024 and we in the NPP have pledged to uphold the peace and harmony in the region and therefore that of the country.

“The New Patriotic Party believe in democracy and we therefore always approach every elections with a peaceful mindset, we go to any elections selling our policies and messages to the electorates and not engaging in any social vices.

“I will advice the youth in the Bono East region and across the country, that voting is about voting for a person you believe in and not fighting, we the Bono East NPP executives have advice our members to respect the electoral laws and the security agencies in the country.

“No politician is interested in electoral violence, we meet and dine with our brothers and sisters in NDC, so why should you stay home and have the mindset of engaging in political violence for a particular political party.
