The President of the Bono House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Nana Agyemang Badu II, has called on all Paramount Chiefs in the erstwhile Brong Ahafo region to unite together with the aim of creating job opportunities for the youth in the region.

Speaking at the 2024 Beko Bono Festival in Techiman, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Nana Agyemang Badu II, emphasized the need for economic development in the region and called on the Bono people to unite and support the initiative.

According to him, the establishment of factories will not only create jobs for the youth in the erstwhile Brong Ahafo region but also stimulate economic growth and reduce poverty in our communities.

“We have all gathered here for one reason and that reason is that we are all bono people, so if we really want to go far and develop our regions, we have to be united, there is nothing that we can’t achieve if we are united.

“We all look beautiful in our traditional attire but that is not what our people are demanding from us, we meeting our people and telling them our culture is very important but that is not all, the good people in all the bono communities need us to develop our community.” He disclosed.

Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Nana Agyemang Badu II, continued, “I believe that if we the traditional leaders in the bono communities come together, we can develop our community and our regions. Building schools and other infrastructures are very important but if our people graduate, where will they be working.? He quizzed

“So as Paramount Chiefs of the Bono Kingdoms, we should all come together and create jobs for our people. Our people who have graduated are still at home waiting to be employed so if we come together  and create jobs for our people, they won’t sit home for years after graduating from the various institutions.” Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Nana Agyemang Badu II said.

The plan, which is expected to be rolled out in phases, will focus on identifying and supporting viable industries, such as agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism. The Bono, Ahafo, and Bono East Regional House of Chiefs will work closely with stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector partners, and traditional authorities, to secure funding and expertise.
