Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Wednesday, 17th July, 2024 commissioned an ultra-modern two-storey Ghana Police Shop at the Police Headquarters in Accra, the capital city of Ghana.
The Ghana Police Shop is a dedicated shop where officers of the security services can purchase additional uniforms and other items to support what they are officially provided.
According to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Police officers outside Accra can purchase the items online and it will be delivered to them at their various stations.
“I commissioned an ultra-modern, two-storey Ghana Police Shop at the Police Headquarters in Accra on Wednesday. It is a dedicated shop where officers of the security services can purchase additional uniforms and other items to support what they are officially provided. Police officers outside Accra can purchase the items online and have them delivered at their stations.” Bawumia announced.
Dr. Bawumia commended the leadership of the Ghana Police Service for the innovation and urged them to make the maintenance of the facility a priority for the next generations.
“The shop also stocks institutional souvenirs that come in handy during international exchange programmes. I commended the leadership of the Ghana Police Service for the innovation, urged them to make the maintenance of the facility a priority, and thanked all stakeholders who contributed to its realisation.” He said.
He said the NPP government is determined to improve the lives of Ghana Police Service and other security agencies to ensure service delivery for the citizens.
According to him, if the Police administration and other security agencies are well resourced, they can discharge their duties perfectly to reduce crime and other related activities in the country.
He also urged the Police to hold on to their professionalism especially in the 2024 general elections to maintain peace and stability in the country.
