Farmers of Atuna No1 in the Wenchi Municipality of Bono Region have appealed to the government to execute their fair share of the nation’s developmental projects.

Speaking to Isaac Nsiah Foster, an investigative broadcast journalist, Atuna farmers reminded Member of Parliament for the area Seidu Haruna and government to deliver on their promises made to them.

Atuna No.1 farmers want their fair share of the national cake as promised by both Member of Parliament (MP) for the area and the government in their electioneering campaigns towards the 2024 General Elections.

Outlining their needs at Atuna No 1 they stated emphatically that road networks within the area are very bad, and the water system is not good.

“Even we force our kids to go to school in towns like Awisa that have schools and very far from our community but if they go today, tomorrow they won’t go due to the distance level, however we have presented our challenges to all the Parliamentary candidates but none seems to solve our challenges they all failed to deliver on their promises of construction of school blocks for us” Hon Haruna the incumbent MP said if Mahama wins he will build school for us” they hinted.

Among their urgent needs include a portable water system, health facility, school blocks as well as construction of their deplorable road network.

“We are facing a lot of challenges here, we don’t have good water and health facilities. We also need school blocks.” One farmer said.

“It is very pathetic when you see your farm crops going to waste due to the bad roads network. Sometimes we struggle to bring the farm crops to the market and sell because of the nature of the roads. It looks as if we are not part of Ghana.” Another farmer lamented.
