Guinness World Records has encouraged anyone who has the desire to attempt breaking World Records to be bold and try his or her best.

According to GWR, anyone could hold a world record.

Since 2023, many people have expressed their interest to attempt – breaking the Guinness World Record.

Guinness World Records on X (formerly twitter) said, “anyone could hold a world record, even you”.

Nigerian chef, Hilda Bassey Effiong, popularly known as Hilda Buci in June 2023, broke the Guinness World Record for longest cooking marathon with at 93 hours 11 minutes.

However, in November 2023, Irish chef Alan Fisher, an owner and chef of a restaurant in Japan, overtook Nigerian chef Hilda Baci’s longest cooking marathon by an individual record after cooking for 119 hours 57 minutes.

Currently, Ghanaian Chef, Failatu Abdul Razak who is attempting to break the current Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual has cooked for over 175 hours.

Further, Ghanaian nurse and makeup artist, Dela Gomey has successfully completed his attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most lipstick applications in 30 seconds.

Dela Gomey applied lipstick on 8 models in 30 seconds waiting for confirmation from Guinness World Records judges.

The event took place on January 6, 2024, at the Efa Guest House in Dodowa, Greater Accra Region.

The current record holder was achieved by renowned Chinese makeup artist and influencer Li Jiaqi who applied 4 applications in 30 seconds in 2018.

Ghanaian Journalist and Entrepreneur, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum has also ended her attempt of Guinness World Record of longest singing marathon by an individual waiting for official confirmation from Guinness World Records judges.

Afua Asantewaa sing-a-thon ended with 126 hours, 52 minutes waiting for official confirmation from Guinness World Record judges.

The current Guinness World Record holder, Sunil Waghmare recorded 105 hours.

Ghanaian celebrity blogger, freelance journalist, and reporter, Ameyaw Kissi Debrah, known professionally as Ameyaw Debrah has predicted that by the end of 29th December 2024, every record in the Guinness World Record book will be held by Ghanaians.

His prediction comes after about 8 Ghanaians have announced plans to break the new Guinness World Record.

In is reaction, Ameyaw Debrah wrote on his X, “By 29th December 2024 every record in the Guinness World Record will belong to a Ghanaian”

Among the Ghanaians who have announced plans to break the new Guinness World Record this year are: Entrepreneur and Television show host, Deloris Frimpong Manso, widely known as Delay, Ghanaian actress and media personality, Adu Safowaah, Ghanaian graduate and avid reader, Isaac Amoako and others.

Deloris Frimpong Manso, widely known as Delay has also announced to embark on a kissing marathon or kiss – a – thon.

On her X, Delay urged her fans to nominate a good kisser as a partner for her to start the attempt.

“I want to do a Kiss-A-Thon, and nominate my kissing partner. Please get me a good kisser” She wrote.

For her part, Ghanaian actress and media personality, Adu Safowaah has announced that she will try to break the Guinness World Record for the longest speech marathon by an individual.

According to her, she will speak for 120 hours to break the current 90 hours record held by a Nepalese man.

Adu Safowaah will begin her speech-a-thon attempt from 9th to 14th February 2024.

“Hello Africa, let’s take this Now ! Ghana to the World. Longest speech Marathon. Kindly tag me & @GWR when you post me. #ADUSAFOWAAH SPEECH_A_THON” The Actress announced on her X.

Isaac Amoako, Ghanaian graduate and avid reader also is gearing up to  break the Guinness World Record for the longest reading-aloud marathon. He plans to read aloud for six days non-stop.

According to him, his target is between 145 to 150 hours.

Another Ghanaian, Mawuena Benedictus has also announced the longest marathon reading aloud.

A Seamstress whose name was not given has also said her fashion centre in Tamale (GafRaf Fashion Centre) will soon embark on sew-a-thon.
She announced to embark on two weeks of non-stop sewing.

Patrict Amenuvor will start a one week standing marathon to break the Guinness World Record for the longest standing marathon by an individual.
Amenuvor’ stand-a-thon will begin on Sunday, 14 January, 2024 and end on Sunday, 21 January, 2024.
