President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has invited President-elect of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama for a meeting at Jubilee House.

The meeting scheduled for Wednesday, 11th December, 2024 is aimed at initiating the transition process.

“In the spirit of collaboration, the President has invited the President-elect for a meeting on Wednesday, 11th December, 2024, at Jubilee House to initiate the transition process. He remains committed to the principles of good governance and a peaceful transition that will further strengthen Ghana’s reputation as a beacon of democracy in Africa.” The President said in a press release signed by the Director of Communications at the Office of the President, Eugene Arhin on Monday, 9th December, 2024.

Further to this evening’s official declaration by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Jean Mensa, of the results of the 2024 Presidential Election, the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has called President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, to congratulate him on his decisive victory in the just-ended presidential election.

President Akufo-Addo expressed his commitment to ensuring a seamless transfer of power on 7th January 2025, and looks forward to working with the President-elect and his team to realize this goal.

The President also congratulated the Electoral Commission and the Ghanaian people for a successful election that reflects the enduring strength of Ghana’s democracy. He acknowledges the commitment and participation of all stakeholders, which have ensured that the democracy process in Ghana remains credible and peaceful.

President Akufo-ddo calls on all Ghanaians to unite and work together to consolidate democracy and the rule of law in our country.
