Samuel Duodu, a pastor at the Adom Baptist Church in the Techiman Municipality of the Bono East region, as part of his peace message for the upcoming general elections, has called on fathers to put their house in order to prevent to ensure their children refrain from taking part in any election related violence.
According to him, one of the ways to ensure that the December 7th election will be free from any form of election related violence is when the youth populace for this matter the youth are well trained on the need to preserve the peace and unity in their communities.
He said fathers as the head of the family have the responsibility to ensure that the children get the needed training on the importance of peace in their communities and the country at large as well as tolerance.
“Peace is a cornerstone of any thriving society, and as fathers, we have a duty to set the example for our families and communities, by fostering an environment of understanding, respect, and cooperation within our own homes, we are laying the groundwork for a more harmonious and stable Ghana.”
“One of the things we all crave for in life is peace, and a father is expected to bring peace and unity in his family, so as fathers, we have to advise our children as we approach the general elections, they should let their children know the importance of peace and stability.
“Fathers should advise their children not to sell their conscience to any politician, they should advise their children not to be moved by money to engage in any violent conduct such as the snatching of ballot boxes.” He told our reporter.
Rev. Samuel Duodu continued, “as I said earlier, being a father doesn’t necessarily have to mean being the biological father of someone, so all fathers in the country must take it upon themselves to advise the youth to desist from any act that will jeopardize the peace and stability of the country.
“While advising the youth to desist from any violent act, we should report any wrong doing in our communities to the appropriate security agency, violence in any form should not be tolerated, our society is against violence and God frowns upon it so as fathers, we must do our best to maintain the peace in our community and the country at large.”
