Ghanaian broadcast journalist, Ebenezer Donkoh, currently with YFM, has weighed in on the Achimota Mall and Aka Ebenezer’s controversy.
A video circulating on social media shows the authorities at Achimota Mall in Accra preventing Dr. Likee, also known as Aka Ebenezer, and his crew from shooting a movie on the premises.
Reports indicate that while photos and videos can be taken at the mall, shooting movies is prohibited.
In the video, Aka Ebenezer can be heard in confrontation with the authorities, arguing that even American rapper Meek Mill did not need permission to smoke and shoot a music video at President Akuffo Addo’s office when he recently visited Ghana.
NYDJ the FokLex Media Radio Personality of the Year, does not side with Dr. Likee.
According to him, since the Achimota Mall does not belong to the Government of Ghana, it is a no-no for Dr. Likee, who should understand this.
He questions whether Aka Ebenezer thinks he can shoot anywhere just because he is Ghanaian.
NYDJ wrote:
“The IGNORANCE and SELF-ENTITLEMENT in this space, er!
“You were stopped from filming on someone’s property because you didn’t seek permission, and you think you have the RIGHT to film there just because you’re a Ghanaian. Yoo, the property belongs to the government of Ghana, er?
“Dear Akabenezer, we love you and your team, but don’t go this way. This is a NO-NO!”
