The Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Tuobodom District has climax the celebrations of its 10th year anniversary.
The District, which has 18 congregations and the church has been a place of worship and community for the people of Tuobodom for a decade.
The church, during the celebrations of its anniversary, organized a lot of activities which was climaxed by a church service at the Tuobodom Presbyterian School Park as members of the church expresses their gratitude to God for the progress they have made and the blessings they have received over the past 10 years.
Rev. Benjamin Appiah, Chairperson of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, says the Tuobodom District of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in the past 10 years has been instrumental in winning souls to the Kingdom of God.
He also urged the congregation to be mindful of the actions as the country gears towards the upcoming elections.
“Tuobodom was part of the Techiman District 10 years ago but they were able to get at least four congregations in the Techiman North District and they were elevated as District on their own.
“It has been a decade of God’s faithfulness and a promised future, we want to thank God for how far he has brought the District. the theme for the celebrations is “A decade of God’s faithfulness, a promising future and it intertwine with our sermon for today which is love God and your neighbor.
“Its left with one month and a few days to elections, we are stressing that your political opponent is not your political enemy. Let us leave in harmony, go to the polls in peace, give thanks to God when your party comes to power and if your party fails to come to power, go and sit down and re-strategies for the next elections.” He said.
Rev. Benjamin Appiah, pleaded with the communicators of the various political parties to be mindful of their utterances whenever they get the opportunity to spread the message of their party on the various media platforms.
“The elections is not a do or die affairs, the communicators of the various political parties should refrain from insults during their communications on the various media platforms, lets respect the electoral norms and by so doing, we will have a free, fair and violence free elections.” He said.
The Tuobodom District Minister, Rev. Joseph Adu Affum, on his part, highlighted some of the activities they undertook as part of the 10th anniversary.
He said, “God has been good to us as a District, we are climaxing the celebrations of our 10th year anniversary today.
“We launched the anniversary in all our locals, we organized a music festival at Kenten to praise and worship God, we organized a quizzed competition for all our locals and yesterday, we organized a general cleaning in Tuobodom and its environ.
“We want the entire world to know that God is just and those that have faith and trust in Him gets rewarded. We as a District are very grateful to God for how far He has brought us.” He said.
Rev. Benjamin Appiah, disclosed that, they are organizing fundraising to generate revenue to purchase a vehicle for their District Minister.
He also said a word of caution to the youth ahead of the upcoming elections.
“As part of our 10th year anniversary, we are organizing a fundraising to buy a vehicle to support our ministry, we have about 18 outstations that we have to visit throughout the year. Out of the 18 outstations, 12 of them are doing well, we want to support the other outstations for them to also perform to the fullest.
“We will soon go to the polls, we want to advise the public especially the youth to desist from any action that will threaten the peace and unity of our country.” He said.
The celebration is not just about looking back on the past 10 years, but also about looking forward to the future as the church is committed to continuing their work in the community and making a positive impact on the lives of those around them.
