President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has promised to hand over power to anyone Ghanaians will choose to lead the country in the next four years in the 2024 general elections.
According to him, he will do everything within his powers to maintain the peace of Ghana by ensuring that the December 7 polls are free, fair and transparent.
Speaking at the grand durbar of the Anlo Hogbetsotso Za festival on Saturday, November 11, Nana Addo stated that without peace there can not be a proper development and so the peace Ghanaians are currently enjoying is the peace that will carry through to the elections on 7th December.
“The peace that I have maintained in the 8 years of my presidency, as we all know, without peace, there can be no proper development and I want to reiterate, the peace we are currently enjoying is the peace we will carry through to the elections on 7th December. I want to assure the people of Anlo, the people of the Volta region and the people of Ghana, that the elections, the forthcoming elections in December, are going to be free, fair, transparent, and peaceful.” He said.
“And on the 7th of December, I will hand over the baton of national leadership to whoever the people of Ghana choose on the 7th of December to succeed me.” Nana Addo added.
The president expressed his appreciation to the Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area in the Central region, Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II, and Paramount Chief of New Juaben Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng III for their participation in the festival which symbolized unity.
“My purpose here is to come and greet my good friend, Togbi Sri III, the Awoemefia of Anlo and to wish him prosperity and good health. I heard the unfinished work that he is asking me to do, in the last two months of my government I will do my best.” Nana Addo indicated.
