His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo the President of the Republic of Ghana says he firmly believes that a thriving industrial sector is the key to unlocking the nation’s true potential and ensuring a prosperous future for all Ghanaians.
The President said it is as a result of that believe that his government implemented series of policies such as the 1 District 1 Factory (1D1F) initiative with the aim of fostering industrial growth and development in the country.
Under the 1 District 1 Factory program, the government has committed to establishing at least one factory in each district across Ghana with the goal to create a vibrant industrial ecosystem that spans the length and breadth of the country, bringing economic opportunities and employment to every region.
President Akuffo Addo revealed that his government has built 321 factories across the country. According to him, 169 out of the 321 factories have been completed and are operational while the remaining 152 are under construction.
“Industrial development was very dear to me as a President that is why I initiated the 1D1F in the country. We have completed 169 factories across the country under the 1D1F policy and they are operational and 152 factories are under construction.”
The President, said this during his “thank you” tour in the Bono East region. while addressing the gathering at the Assembly of Techiman Valley View University Campus, the President mentioned some of the 1D1F projects that have been completed and those still under construction in the Bono East region.
He further disclosed that, the 1D1F has helped to improve the economic structure of the Bono East Region and Ghana at large
“In the Bono East region, the ones in operation are the pineapple processing factory in Techiman, Kingtampo Cashew Processing Factory, the Tomato Processing Factory in Atebubu is still under construction as the Prang Mango Processing Factory.
“All these factories serves as a source of employment in Bono East and it improves the structure of the economy in the region.” He said
Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo, disclosed that, recognizes that industrial development is not just about building factories; it’s about creating an environment where businesses can flourish, where innovation is encouraged, and where the workforce is equipped with the skills they need to succeed.
The President, said the 1D1F policy, Planting for Food and Jobs, road constructions as well as other initiatives are some of the achievements of his government.
“So all the roads constructed under the government, 1D1F and the Planting for Food and Job, has helped reduce hunger in the country are all some of the achievements of my government.”
