Nigerian singer, songwriter and actress, Tiwatope Omolara Savage, known professionally as Tiwa Savage has said she hated her two hit songs, Eminado and Dorobucci.
According to her, Nigerian record producer and singer, Michael Collins Ajereh, known professionally as Don Jazzy recommended the two songs for her but she didn’t like it.
“ I will tell you like, I hated Eminado, I hated that song when I first heard it and Don Jazzy played it for me; I was like, I don’t like it, and he said it’s going on my album, and I said no, he was like, this album is not coming out if you don’t put Eminado in it. And I started asking myself what Eminado was all about, and then he argued that he understood the market.” The singer said in an interview with Cool FM.
“You know, like, you have to go with Jazzy, because that’s Don Jazzy. Even I hated it more because now I have to perform it every time because everyone is waiting for it. Don Jazzy will be looking at me and……….I did not like Dorobucci either; everybody loved it and I was the last person to do my verse, and I did not like it. I was like, nobody was going to like it, and then the whole of Africa loved it.” She added.
Tiwa Savage indicated that despite her highly dislike of the songs, it turned out to be like a movement because everybody loved it and even attached Docobucci to many names.
“The patronage was huge to the extent that everybody was changing the name to Dorooo, Tiwa Doro, Doro this and that, it was a movement, it was really huge but I hate it. So at a meeting with Don Jazzy, he was like I told you. And that is why he is the Don.” She revealed.
